Free Update 4 hit Doom yesterday and added Arcade Mode into the game, something which turns the campaign into a score-based mode instead.

In the Arcade Mode you can play every level with all the guns and equipment unlocked as well as customise gear as well. Bethesda hopes this mode will add the incentive for players to compete against others for the highest score, not to mention to replay the campaign for those who have already completed it.

The update also brings classic Doom modules to SnapMap, building maps using assets from the original games, although id Software have created classic maps for use as well. It is also easier to recommend and review maps you've played now too, and you can even subscribe to creators for Snap Feed.

Two new multiplayer modes make their way into the game too, including a Prowlers vs. Marine mode that puts players on either side, but when marines die, they respawn as Prowlers. The second of these modes is Bloodrush, forcing players to manage their Bloodrush meter to respawn, adding a new angle to free-for-all modes. Assists and kills add to your meter, but it fades over time.
