One of the issues with the PlayStation 4 Pro is that leveraging the extra horsepower in the upgraded machine hinges entirely on the developers having a special version or a patch ready. Watch Dogs 2 was one of the major supporters at the reveal conference, but now it seems the game may not receive PS4 Pro support at launch.
In a recent interview game director Jonathan Morin said that the focus is on the regular versions for now:
"Right now we're focusing on November 15 with PS4 and Xbox and PC. As far as the other opportunities, we still have to look into those. We have nothing to announce on that right now. And I am sure plenty of other programmers are looking into these opportunities, but for us, for now, it's PC, and Xbox One, and PS4."
Whether Morin considers the Pro to be a part of the PS4 family is unknown, but it would seem that Ubisoft wants the regular versions out of the door before properly starting development on a patch. Will it matter to you if there's no PS4 Pro patch?
