Friday the 13th: The Game was supposed to release this fall, but with few updates we kind of knew what was coming.

The bad news: Gun Media has announced that the game has been delayed until next spring. The good news: they're doing it because they're implementing fan-requested features, including a single-player component with AI-controlled bots. This is quite a surprise, as the inclusion of single-player was one of the stretch goals they failed to meet in their Kickstarter campaign.

As if that wasn't enough we'll also get to play as Tommy Jarvis (Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, A New Beginning, and Jason Lives) and Crystal Lake's Packanack Lodge will be an additional playable map.

There's a chance you'll get to play the game this year even with the delay. Gun Media has laid out their release plan, and it still starts this year.

• Late 2016: A beta for Kickstarter backers and four of their friends. There will also be a beta for those who pre-ordered the game at a later date.

• Spring 2017: Full multiplayer release with Tommy Jarvis and Packanack Lodge as the third playable map

• Summer 2017: The release of single-player with AI bots

If you want to be part of the beta it's worth mentioning that they've raised the price of the digital version due to the extra content. The price used to be $30, but has now been raised to $40.
