Oculus and Samsung no longer support Samsung Galaxy Note 7 for use with the mobile Gear VR headset, according to a statement on the official website.
"Customer safety is our top priority. Oculus is removing support for all Note7 devices on the Oculus platform. Until further notice, Note7 devices will not be compatible with the Gear VR." This move follow the events of the past months seeing reports of Note 7 devices catching fire and exploding. Samsung recalled original units and issue replacements, which caused also trouble. Following that Samsung released a statement yesterday saying it has ceased production and sales of the Galaxy Note 7 worldwide. Owners can get either get a refund or exchange their device.
