Last week FIFA 17 was released and at that point Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 was already out. As expected, the former has sold significantly better on launch, which has been the case for many years now, but if a report from analyst Daniel Ahmad is to be believed, the gap has increased even more than usual this year.
In fact, Ahmad claims on Twitter that FIFA 17 sold forty times more copies than its rival on launch.
This is significantly more than in previous years, where FIFA has been reported to have sold about ten times better than PES. That being said, the 10:1 ratio is for the games throughout the whole season, and not for the launch day.
Even so, a ratio of 40 to 1 is surprising, and according to Ahmad part of the reason is weaker sales for Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 compared to last year's edition. What do you think about this huge gap?
