Just like its competitor YouTube.

Twitch now allows pre-recorded videos to be uploaded even if they didn't originate on the site, a change that signals a movement into new territory and further into competition with rival YouTube.

A video has been released regarding the change, but basically users can upload any video content and none of it has an expiration date, unlike stream archives.

Although it is still in beta, this looks like a step in the right direction in terms of competing with YouTube, as now users can archive their content on Twitch rather than switching to YouTube.

Do you think this is a step in the right direction?
