PlayStation 4 only needed a little more than two years to pass the lifetime sales of Wii U in both consoles' hometurf, Japan. PlayStation 4 was released February 22, 2014 (three months later than in Europe/USA) and Wii U launched December 8, 2012.

According to Media Create, PS4 has now sold 3,267,243 compared to 3,265,329 for Wii U. Xbox One is somewhat trailing and rarely sells even 200 consoles a week. The total number of sold Xbox One consoles in Japan is not entirely impressive, with Microsoft's hardware shifting just 68,224 units to date.

Thanks, Neogaf.
