Steam's Storefront UI will be getting a much-needed update very soon, a leak has confirmed. Word of the update initially appeared on NeoGAF after being taken from a thread in a private, developer-only steam group.

In the NeoGAF post, all of the major changes are listed, one of which is the addition of a column on the left of the screen which will provide better navigation for users. It will include top sellers, recently updated, upcoming releases, and specials. When you're logged in, it will also show popular amongst friends, curator recommendations, and your discovery queue.

Many of these new features are already in the steam menu, so it may be that this update will make them more visually appealing and easier to access. One of the better new additions is called 'global customer preferences,' and is a feature that gives users the option to remove certain types of games from their homepage entirely. This means you'll be able to stop things like Early Acess or VR games from appearing.

The Steam Curator system is also getting improved significantly. Curators will now be able to give lots more on a game, including the ability to not recommend certain games and create purely informational posts on games without necessarily recommending them.

The update is expected to roll out in the next few weeks, and in the meantime you can check out the full list of changes on NeoGAF. What do you make of these changes? Do you think Curators will be able to have too much influence? Let us know in the comments!
