To be fair you probably wouldn't want Ashley Cole back anyway, considering he's well past his prime in FIFA 17, and of course there's the whole "Cashley Cole" affair.
However, if you did want to see him in a Gunner's shirt once again, it probably wouldn't happen anyway. FIFA 17's career mode takes into account a player's past relationship with a club making an offer, and players may decline a move if they feel they will not be welcomed by fans. This is what Ashley Cole had to say about returning to Arsenal in FIFA:
"I have no intention of ever playing for your club given the history between us. I don't think the fans would ever accept me, so it's not a move I can ever envisage making. Thank you for your interest, but please revise your offer and my agent and I will take it under consideration."
He leaves just a glimmer of hope at the end, meaning "pay me double and I'll think again," but we're not sure even that would be enough to lure Cole back to Arsenal after all those years away. And let's be honest, we think that's best for everyone concerned.
