During Sony's Pre-Tokyo Game Show briefing, iconic game creator Hideo Kojima took to the stage to share some more details about his upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive, Death Stranding.

He talked at length about the meaning of the game's name, which has previously been discussed, as well as connecting gamers with rope instead of rods, suggesting that combat might not be the game's focus, despite the fact that it's being referred to as an action title.

Hideo Kojima announced that Death Stranding is in fact an open world game with a "degree of freedom", and that it will contain "online elements".

Closing off his speech, Kojima announced that an engine has been chosen, and that Death Stranding is now officially in full production.
