According to SF Weekly Zynga, makers of the popular Facebook games Farmville and Mafia Wars, have gotten into a bit of trouble over a marketing campaign for the upcoming Mafia Wars: Las Vegas.
The police department in San Francisco didn't find the fake 25,000 dollar bills Zynga had plastered to the sidewalks the least bit amusing. On the bills a link to the Mafia Wars website could be found.
"The City Attorney takes violations such as these very seriously, and intends to pursue every available cause of action aggressively against Zynga for these illegal marketing tactics," says Alex Tse, Deputy City Attorney on the matter.
