Sony didn't reveal the technical specifications of the PlayStation 4 Pro on stage during the PlayStation Meeting earlier tonight, but they decided to share them in a press release instead. They seem to be the same as the ones that leaked earlier this year:
• Main processor: Single-chip custom processor
• CPU: x86-64 AMD "Jaguar" with 8 cores
• GPU: 4.20 teraflops, AMD Radeon based graphics engine
• Memory: GDDR5 8GB
• Network: 2GHz or 5 GHz
This also means that the Pro will be quite a lot weaker than what Microsoft has planned for their Scorpio, which aims to offer approximately 6 teraflops. Now the question is: will this matter much when most third party developers will make games for both consoles and both hardware manufacturers insist of making all games compatible across old and new hardware?
