In an interview with The Guardian, Ubisoft chief executive Yves Guillemot went on record as saying they will make fewer Triple-A games for Playstation 4 and Xbox 720.

"With next gen consoles, it's going toward bigger games, and yes, we will make less of them. But with free-to-play games, the teams aren't as big so we can try different things and find subjects that are of interest to consumers.", Guillemot noted.

Of course, this mirrors the opinion of many others in the industry and we have already seen a significant decline in the number of top budget projects this generation compared to the last one. And to be perfectly honest it's not necessarilly a bad thing for gamers as it will leave more space in the marketplace for smaller projects to shine.
