Uplay, the online store for Ubisoft's games on PC, is likely to start selling titles from third-party publishers.

In a recent interview with MCV, Ubi's Stephanie Perotti explained that company remains "open to opportunities" as they look to establish the service in the face of fierce competition from Steam, Origin, GOG and Gamersgate.

"Right now, we're starting the service with our own games, but as we go forward, we plan to potentially add other titles," Perotti said.

"The plan for UPlay goes beyond digital distribution. We continue to evolve the service across all platforms, including PC, console and mobile. The more Ubisoft games you play, the more rewards you can get, as well as several online services that players would expect."

The idea of earning achievements that can be spent on buying additional content is likely to be well received, but will it be enough to draw customers to the PC digital distribution service? Only time will tell, but Ubi's recent decision to ditch their controversial DRM policy could be an indication that the publishing giant is taking the challenge seriously and are hoping to make a significant impact in this area.
