Later today we'll get the full launch details for the European launch of Wii U, but in the meantime let's take a look at some of the facts coming out of Nintendo of Japan's Wii U event this morning.
Wii U will come in two bundles in Japan, one with 8GB of internal memory and one with 32GB. The former, standard white edition is going to go for ¥26,250 (£210). The more attractive offer the black Premium edition comes with 32GB internal memory and also grants you a Nintendo Premium membership (basically 10% of any digital purchases). It retails for ¥31,500 (£252) and sounds like the far more advantageous proposition.
A Wii U GamePad on its own comes in at ¥13,440 (£108) with an AC adaptor for charging - though so far there is no reason to get a second one as no games have been confirmed to support two GamePads.
Here are the two bundles that go on sale in Japan on December 8:

Some specs were also revealed including the fact that Wii U has 1GB of system memory (reserved for OS) and 1GB of game memory.
The European Nintendo Direct stream kicks off at 2:00pm this afternoon, so until then the Japanese launch details will have to serve as grounds for speculation on the European details.
