Xbox 360 and football rules the charts!

The analyst at NPD have released the top selling video games and hardware for the U.S. market in July. The new Xbox 360 model continues to do well, and this is actually the first time since Halo 3 launched that Xbox 360 was the best selling piece of hardware in the States. NCAA Football 11 from EA did best in the software department with a total of 692,000 units sold, ahead of Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 that did 401,000 units across a multitude of SKU's.

While video game sales was down somewhat for the month, the release of Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty did register a whopping 103 per cent year-on-year increase for PC game sales (reported separately). So overall, gaming did okay in July...
