Many of you are looking forward to exploring the world in Final Fantasy XV later this year, but you might not get to explore as much as you want.

The game's director, Hajime Tabata, revealed an interesting detail when talking with Famitsu recently. Apparently we'll only get to explore the world freely for approximately half of the game. He says that the first half will be open world, with the second half being more story-driven and linear. They did this because they feared that players would get tired of exploring the world, and would want more story after a while.

Nonetheless, it still seems like you'll spend a lot of time with the game. Tabata-san says that it'll take between forty and fifty hours to complete just the story.

Final Fantasy XV is set to launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One November 29, and you can read our impressions from last week here.
