In a recent interview with Gamasutra, Sony's John Koller explains that Sony don't want PS Vita to be flooded by console ports the same way PSP was.

"The issue that happened with PSP is we got overrun with ports. It became very difficult for us to define what made PSP unique. The content development became a bit unstructured or decentralized, in that we got a lot of content that was on PlayStation 2 and got thrown over to the handheld," Koller tells Gamasutra.

"Follow what Ubisoft is doing with Assassin's Creed, follow what Activision is doing with Call of Duty," Koller adds.

The question remains whether your average gamer will realise the Vita is getting exclusive entries of Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty this fall - but that will be up to marketing. It's make or break time for PS Vita, as it really needs to establish itself with a strong finish to the year.
