A lot of games lately have been punishing those who cheat, with Street Fighter V and Overwatch two that have been in public eye of late, which is good new for those who play straight, as cheaters dampen the online experience for everyone else.

Rainbow Six Siege received an update with the release of the Operation Skull Rain DLC and made many improvements. One improvement was a new anti-cheat system, called BattlEye. The game already had an anti-cheat system in the game called FairFight. However, since the new system has been implemented some 3,800 players have been hit with the banhammer.

"We are continuously working with BattlEye through frequent updates in order to improve the detection of cheats. This will make a big difference in the long run," said the game's technical architect.

Rainbow Six Siege is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
