In recent weeks we've reported news on Pokémon Go's huge success, with Niantic's super popular mobile game letting you capture the legendary Pokémon while out and about in the real world using Augmented Reality on your smartphone.

The studio has already updated and improved some features, releasing several patches on both iOS and Android, which among other things have blocked access to the third party apps that let you monitor and quickly locate Pokémon, such as PokéVision and PokéHound.

In response to criticism levelled at these measures, Niantic explained their position on these third-party apps, explaining how they'll be taking a vigilant approach when dealing with these unofficial apps in the future.

Apparently the studio kept their word, because - as reported by people on Reddit - some players have been banned from Pokémon Go because they used third-party apps. You can read the email they received below:

However, at the moment, some users can apparently still access their accounts and play the game, despite having received the e-mail.
