Its administration have decided that Iran is becoming the first country in the world to prohibit the usage of the extremely popular Pokémon Go game on local mobile devices, as they've apparently detected several "security concerns" related to the augmented reality - geotracking experience.

According to the BBC, the High Council of Virtual Spaces, which is in charge of monitoring online activities in the country, is specifically concerned about underage users, so that the ban "is aimed at safeguarding the children who play".

Although other countries have shared similar concerns, this is the first administration issuing a full ban for the app. Of course, the game isn't even officially launched in Iran, so clearly people have been finding the game via alternative sources. This said, Iranian government was reportedly checking with game creators at Niantic Labs on how to solve those security concerns, so perhaps a different version of Pokémon Go will alunch there officially one day.
