Pokémon Go has been in the headlines a lot this summer first because of the massive success and multiple weird incidents involving the game and then more recently over the controversy with updates that removed third party support. Now the developer Niantic Labs is facing more problems, but this time it comes in the shape of a lawsuit in the US.

According to a report on Bloomberg Niantic Inc. and Nintendo Co. have been taken to court over inciting trespassing to private property. Allegedly the two companies have unleashed a nuisance for property owners with their GPS-based game and the plaintiff now seeks class-action status on behalf of all Americans whose properties have been trespassed as a result of the game. The case also mentions that Pokémon players have disturbed cemeteries and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington.

So far Niantic nor Nintendo have yet commented the case. Ryan Morrison, a lawyer in New York who specialises in legal issues related to video games told Bloomberg that there is probably going to be 200 lawsuits and "if the court comes along and says this kind of suit is OK, what a terrible blow it will be to augmented reality technology."
