3DS sales are through the roof

Reports tell of an increase of more than 200 percent in the UK thanks to Pokémon Go.

The past month has seen whole world playing Pokémon Go on their phones, as well as leaked information on the Nintendo NX have apparently sparked people's interest in Nintendo's current handheld, the 3DS. According to MCVUK the sales of 3DS XL were up by 222 percent last week compared to same period last year, and the 2DS were up by 234 percent in the UK. Quite impressive this late in the handheld's life cycle.

Sources quoting GfK figures say that Nintendo's games held ten of the 50 most sold games last week in UK, with Pokémon titles selling almost 9,000 units. At the same time MCVUK reports on an increased sale of Pokémon clothing and toys, as well as a significant increase in pre-orders for Pokémon Sun/Moon.
