New York, USA, has approximately 3000 sex offenders on parole, and the Governor Andrew Cuomo has directed the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision to restrict them from playing Niantic Labs' Pokémon Go. The reason is that the governor wants to obstruct the sex offenders from a possible way to reach and harm children.

As is started on the offisial site of New York State, this ban will be part of the conditions for parole, prohibiting sex offenders on parole from "downloading, accessing, or otherwise engaging in any Internet enabled gaming activities, including Pokémon Go."

They have also reached out to Niantic Labs with updated information from the Sex Offender Registry, as well as Apple and Google.

Thanks, Huffington Post.
