Galaxy in Turmoil is a fan-made project intended to fill the gap left following the cancellation of Star Wars: Battlefront III, but now there's some important news for those involved or following its progress.
In the wake of a meeting with Lucasfilm, Frontwire Studios has been asked to remove any references to the Star Wars universe from the game, a move that will change the atmosphere and the mood of the title significantly.
It turns out that the company insisting on the change is actually Electronic Arts, which currently owns the exclusive rights to the Star Wars franchise in terms of tripleA gaming.
This change, however, hasn't stopped Tony Romanelli and his development team, who have announced that they will keep on working on Galaxy in Turmoil, but without any reference to the sci-fi saga created by George Lucas.
Galaxy in Turmoil will be available for free on Steam, although it's likely that this change will impact it potential player-base. We'll see what will happen in the near future and how the project will evolve, with the Frontwire team pushing on with development and financing the project with a crowdfunding campaign.
Thanks, Polygon.
