With virtual reality demanding quite a lot from your PC, and Sony having an allegedly more powerful PS4 called PS4 Neo in the works, many players are anxious about the combination of PlayStation VR coupled with the original PS4 console. Will the base model be powerful enough?
Speaking at ACGHK 2016 this week, Sony boss Shuhei Yoshida once again reassured everybody that the answer to this is yes:
"All the PSVR (and future) titles will be playable on (normal) PS4. We believe that everyone can enjoy the entertainment content on PSVR. Not just gamers, but a lot more people enjoy PSVR."
Although we don't know the specifications of the PS4 Neo yet (although we've got a pretty good idea), we do know the amount of power lurking within the original PS4, and it's no secret that the minimum requirements needed for VR on PC are a fair bit higher. Could Sony really have figured out a way to make VR work well on inferior hardware, or are they promising too much on this one?
Cheers, MCV.
