Meet the new Superman

After Supergirl's first season was broadcast on CBS, the television series was purchased by CW, joining the home of Arrow, Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow.

The second season will be broadcast exclusively on CW, with a very special new character thrown into the mix - Superman himself. Although the first season had already shown glimpses of the Man of Steel, in the second season he will be a recurring character, played by Tyler Hoechlin.

Today CW revealed the first picture of Hoechlin in the new Superman suit, which takes clear inspiration from the "New 52" version of the character, similar to what happened to the cinematic version played by Henry Cavill. The suit is thicker, almost like mail armour, the blue color is much darker, and the famous "underwear over trousers" style is gone.

There has been a lot of criticism over the suit and the choice of actor, but the photographer is a apparently at fault for taking the picture from an unfavourable angle. What do you think?
