Pokémon GO has been a game that has captured the public's interest in a way many have only dreamed of and divided opinion throughout the community. Whether you love it or hate it recently one mystery surrounding the game was finally solved. What happens when you reach max level 40?
Getting to level 40 has proved elusive to even the most hardened players of the game, in part due to the difficulty curve in gaining XP from level 30 onwards, but one determined trainer has managed to pull it off settling the questions surrounding what happens.
Earning the amount of XP to reach level 40 was considered nigh on impossible, but Pokémon Go player Luca, Reddit name _problemz, has managed to pull it off, but not in an entirely legitimate way. Luca used a script that sent his character around automatically collecting Pokémon, meaning he did not have to do any of the leg work.
To complete this amazing feat he also bought 125 Lucky eggs, which doubles your XP for 30 minutes and then let the bot do the hard part, the traveling.
Luca detailed why he did it in a post on the Pokémon Go Subreddit where he stated he not only wanted to be the first to reach max level, but also, like a lot of the community, just wanted to know if it was possible.
In the post he also goes on to say that he is now quitting playing the game and as he used a bot has instructed developer Niantic to delete his account.
The Pokémon Go community has reacted quite positively to Luca's work, as it details what a lot of people have speculated when you reach level 40. He explained in the post what he received for reaching the level cap which was, 40 Ultra Balls, Max Potions, Max Revives, Razz Berries, plus four Incense, Lucky Eggs, Incubators and Lure Modules, but also stipulated that there was no Master Ball as a lot of the community has theorised.
Although for now the max level cap has been reached the game will likely see updates that will raise it further and most likely make it easier to reach the higher levels in the future as there will be more Pokémons to collect.
