Inazuma Eleven: The Scales of Ares (or just Inazuma Eleven Ares as it was trademarked in Europe earlier this week) is the new cross-media project from the evergreen football series.
Level-5 has announced a new anime show as well as a new video game, with the reveals coming at their annual Level-5 Vision conference.
The anime, airing in summer 2017, was the star of the show. It came with a new trailer showing new characters Ryouhei Haizaki, Asuto Inamori, and Yuuma Nosaka. They live in a parallel but similar universe to the original Inazuma Eleven.
Level-5 also announced a game for an unnamed "game device", making this the first time an Inazuma Eleven game has been announced without being tied to a portable Nintendo console (is that a hint that the NX will have portable functionality as rumoured earlier this week?). The company is also launching an Inazuma Band, a watch-like device that improves your character when you're out walking or running.
Level-5 did show off a picture of the new hardware, as captured and shared on Twitter by @doraemongoku. The image shows two devices for Inazuma Eleven Ares. The one on the right is the Inazuma Band and the one in the left is the "game device". There is no evidence of it being a Nintendo console (read: the NX), but it sure looks portable. Time will tell if this is a first public glimpse, or merely a placeholder image.
