A 28-year-old man has been arrested for claiming that he will pay Blizzard a visit with an AK-47, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office
Eastern District of California.
FBI got involved when the 28-year-old man from Sacramento, California, started making death threats towards the company. It has been reported that the threats we made on July 2 and July 3.
The online posts included things like him saying that he "may or may not pay [Blizzard] a visit with an AK-47 amongst some other 'fun' tools," and that he "might be inclined to 'cause a disturbance' at [Blizzard's] headquarters in California with an AK-47 and a few other 'opportunistic tools.'"
The man in question was arrested by FBI on July 16 and could face up to 5 years in prison along with up to $250,000 in fines. The reasons behind the threats have not yet been revealed., but it stands to reason he had some sort of issue with one of Blizzard's many popular games.
