During a panel at PAX this weekend, Gearbox Software's Randy Pitchford confirmed that Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 is no longer a Brothers in Arms title.
The Verge reports Pitchford as saying the following:
"The game that was announced as Brothers In Arms: Furious 4 has evolved."He went on to say that as they "pushed the gameplay loop, they got into a place that got away from the core" of what Brothers in Arms is and that "it's evolved even farther, and it needed to be unshackled".
"I wanted to let everyone know that that game's no longer going to be a Brothers In Arms game. It's going to be an all-new IP."
Gearbox further explained that the newly titled game will be fully unveiled at an upcoming community day in Dallas, Texas.
No word on whether Ubisoft are still attached to the project, as it was announced at the Ubisoft E3 press conference in 2011.
