NCsoft have decided to pull the plug on City of Heroes, the first proper super hero MMORPG, launched in 2004 (developed by Cryptic Studios), the game went over to a hybrid free-to-play model last summer, but now the game servers will shut down on November 30 spelling the end to what must be described as a fairly successful MMO. The game has been developed and supported for the last few years by Paragon Studios, an outfit founded by NCsoft as they bought the rights for the game from original developers Cryptic Studios and Paragon has been closed down effective immediately.
