A pro skier, Matilda Rapaport, has died following an accident while filming promotional material for Steep.
The sad news comes courtesy of her sponsor Red Bull, who explained how the young Swede was caught in an avalanche while filming promotional material for Ubisoft's upcoming extreme sports game.
Despite intensive medical care and treatment over the subsequent days, it wasn't possible to save her life.
Red Bull didn't mention her connection to Ubisoft's game, but Ms. Rapaport posted this image on her Instagram account one week ago.
"Matilda was an extraordinary athlete, travelling the world to find her passion, ride steep terrain, and share her bright smile," Red Bull wrote in their memorial post.
Our thoughts go out to her husband, family and friends. Rest in peace, Matilda.
