Ubisoft celebrated better than expected earnings for the last quarter (fiscal Q1 2016-2017, or April-June, 2016). Sales came in at €139 million, compared to the projected €125 million. The Division, Rainbow Six Siege and Hungry Shark World lead the charge with a record-setting 75.3% of sales coming via digital channels.

Via press release Yves Guillemot, co-founder and CEO, stated "Our solid figures for the first quarter of 2016-17 have confirmed the excellent digital trends and demonstrate we are successfully executing our strategic plan. Player engagement levels reached record highs during the period, fueled by the success of The Division, Rainbow Six Siege and Hungry Shark World. MAUs [2] were up 53% year on year, driving digital revenue to a record weighting of 75% of overall sales. Also during the period, our new line-up of games was very well received at E3, with our portfolio of titles - notably For Honor, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Just Dance 2017, South Park The Fractured But Whole, Steep and Watch_Dogs 2 - lauded for its quality and diversity and confirming its strong potential."

Ubisoft also released the always interesting platform split and Ubisoft revenue for the last quarter stacked up as follows: PS4 (31%), PC (26%), Xbox One (23%), Others (mobile, etc) (12%), Xbox 360 (3%), PS3 (3%), Wii & Wii U (2%).
