DICE has previously said that they're looking at implementing more modes that can be played offline in Star Wars Battlefront, and today we got the good news.

They've revealed a new mode called Skirmish. It will be available starting July 20 and will give us the the option to play offline against bots in a solo mission, or with a friend using co-op split screen (consoles only). It'll let us play offline in both Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron, with multiple difficulty options.

As if that wasn't enough they'll also keep having free in-game events and additional Hutt Contracts with new rewards. There will also be open trials to check out the Bespin expansion.

At the end we're told that the upcoming Death Star expansion will arrive in September, and include a larger-than-life character we've been waiting for. Are they hinting Chewbacca?
