We had an opportunity to talk to PlayStation's European boss Jim Ryan during E3 and we talked to him about the format of this year's Sony show and what he thought of Microsoft's showing.
"We did something a bit different this year at the show with the orchestra," says Ryan. "First time I think any of us have seen an orchestra at E3 and that worked really well, but more importantly so did the games."
"[Microsoft] had a good show. We obviously watch that show, we talk about it a lot and they took a different approach and you have to respect that. But you know we took a different approach too, we figured out, it's taken us this many years, that just having a bunch of middle-aged men on the stage talking endlessly is probably not the wisest thing to do at this sort of event. We've done it differently, we had a great line-up of games and just wanted to let them do the talking and that's what we did and we were happy with it."
The full interview with Jim Ryan will be posted later today, and in it he also talks about not talking about the Neo, giving Hideo Kojima the time he needs, bringing back Crash, launching PSVR and more.
