The second wave of government grants for British game developers has been announced. A total of 23 studios, mainly smaller ones, were picked for grants up to £50,000 from the Games Fund. Among the recipients were Titan Souls developers Acid Nerve, Frozen Synapse creators Mode 7, as well as Auroch Digital (Last Days of Old Earth), Broken Fence Games (A Light In Chorus), Brightrock Games (War of the Overworld) and many other smaller and relatively unknown entities.

"Our video games industry is world-renowned, but we know that many small businesses sometimes lack the capital to help develop their ideas and attract private investment," said minister for culture and the digital economy Ed Vaizey of the need for Games Fund. "Our fund is helping bridge that gap and help developers take their ideas from the drawing board and into production."
