While Xbox One users can now enjoy Red Dead Redemption thanks to the console's backwards compatibility feature, PS4 users are getting the chance to taste a different classic Rockstar Games title, in this case cult favourite The Warriors, which launched on PS2 and PC 11 years ago.
The game is already available to download from the PS Store, and has been scaled up to 1080p resolution. It also comes with Trophies, Share Play, Remote Play and support for second screen manuals via PS Vita or Playstation App.
The street fighting beat 'em up is set in the eighties and the combat system and animations were more elaborate than we were used to at the time of its launch. Here's the official description:
New York, 1979.
A battle on the streets.
The armies of the night number 60,000 strong,
and tonight they're all after The Warriors
- a street gang wrongly accused of killing a rival gang leader.
The Warriors must make their way from one end of New York
to their turf on the other side of the city.
All that stands between The Warriors and their survival are 20 miles
and thousands of street gang members.
The Warriors is available on PlayStation 4 for £11.99 / €14.99, the download takes up 3.1 GB of disk space, and here's four screens from the new HD version:
