A 35-year-old Japanese gamer has unlocked the impressive achievement of being the first player to reach Level 1,000 on Steam. The individual in question, who goes by the moniker Palm Desert, is estimated to have invested between $20,000 and $50,000 in his hobby. He has also accumulated over five million XP, has over 5,000 games in his Steam library (but only 57 completed), purchased 3,300 pieces of DLC, and amassed more than 58,000 collectable cards, badges and articles.
