It was E3 only at first, but id said "what the hell."

Doom is doing rather well at the moment. On top fairly universal critical praise, it's also doing decent business for Bethesda (last week, after sitting in the shadows of Overwatch for a time, id's demonic shooter finally rose to the top of the UK charts).

During the publisher's E3 presser it was also announced that a free demo of the game would be available for that week, allowing people to try before they buy. However, now they've decided to make the demo available indefinitely.

"Due to popular demand, we're extending the #DOOM Demo! Download now and #FightLikeHell," the devs said on Twitter, before later adding: "This was initially for E3 week only. But we figured, what the hell."

Doom is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
