The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has revealed that this year's E3 did not attract as many people as last year's event.

E3 2016 has 50,300 visitors this year, down from 52,000 in 2015. However, E3 2015's attendance was record-breaking for the three-day event, so it's not all doom and gloom.

These figures won't come as a surprise to everyone: this year we didn't have appearances from Activison or Disney, and EA had their own event running alongside it.

And some good news for those how like to plan ahead, next year's show has been booked in, so now we know when we can expect to get a launch date for Project Scorpio and PS4K...

E3 2017 will be taking place June 13-15, 2017. Once again at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
