During yesterday's Nintendo Treehouse livestream, the release date for the much anticipated Pokémon Go was announced whilst they were showing a demo of the app and its hardware counterpart.

According to the news coming from the livestream, the app will be out sometime in July, but a concrete date is yet to be set. Pokémon Go Plus, the hardware part of the game that lets you catch Pokémon on the go without getting your phone out, is to be released soon after the game launches, but it won't be ready at launch. Pokémon Go Plus is to cost $34.99, but the app itself is to be free when it launches next month.

The game will also eventually be compatible with Pokémon Sun/Moon in some way when those games launch, but right now we aren't sure what this compatibility will entail.
