We already knew that Ubisoft will show two new VR games during their conference on Monday. Now they've unveiled one of them.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew is being developed for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR by Red Storm Entertainment (mostly known for their work on the Tom Clancy franchise). It takes place in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek universe and allows four players to assume the role of captain, tactical, engineering, or helm officer aboard a starship called Aegis. You're sent to a uncharted sector of space called The Trench to find a suitable new home for the population of Vulcan.
By using the VR headsets and their respective hand controllers you'll have to scan for foreign objects, activate the warp drive, issue combat commands and much more. Red Storm's creative director David Votypka also teases that you'll have to make difficult decisions:
"It's up to you if you want to try the Kirk approach or be more methodical. The game is more about how you and your crew approach situations. It's not binary. Is it more important to save the Vulcan scientists or rescue everyone on the planet? It might be too difficult to do both. It's just like the show. There's not any one right answer."
As we said earlier, Ubisoft will show the game during their conference on Monday.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew will launch on HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR this fall.
