Gaijin Entertainment today announced that War Thunder's 1.59 update, entitled Flaming Arrows, has been released on PS4, PC, Mac and Linux.
This new update adds four new tanks to the game, all with player guided anti-tank missile weaponry, one for each of four War Thunder nations. These consist of the armoured Soviet IT-1, the low-profile German Raketenjagdpanzer-2, the fast Vietnam-era US M551 'Sheridan' and the powerful Swedish Strv 81.
The inclusion of four more tanks will expand the amount of tactics and strategies available to players by introducing new short and long range destructive options for ground battles, Gaijin Entertainment claim.
Two new maps also come with the update too. The first is called Port Novorossiysk and is on the coast of the Black Sea with combined battles. Gaijin Entertainment say that they invested a lot of time to ensure this map is detailed, using historical records and archive data to make it as accurate as possible, also ensuring that there is a rounded scope of gameplay. The other map included in the update is a new 128x128 km map for dogfights above the English Channel.
Flaming Arrows also adds 25 new vehicles across five nations in the game, bringing the overall total of vehicles to over 700. These include LVT(A)1 floating tank for the USA, the Halifax Mk B.III Bomber for Britain, the Sturer Emil SPG for Germany, and the N1K1Ja aircraft for Japan.
A special addition to the game's roster of vehicles is the He 219, nicknamed the 'Eagle-Owl' and this is because it was created in a combined effort between the community (model textures), and the War Thunder developers (flight model, damage model and armament).
Among the other things included in the update are visual makeovers for the hangars for both planes and tanks.
