Google invests in Zynga

The cornerstone of Google Games?

Tech-Crunch have confirmed through multiple sources that Google have secretly invested somewhere between $100 million and $200 million in Zynga developers of the insanely popular Farmville. It is presumed that Zynga will serve as the cornerstone for Google Games a service set to launch later this year with social games as its focus.

It will be interesting to see how Google Games will fare against social gaming behemoth Facebook once it launches.
