The Last Guardian has been shrouded in mystery ever since it was re-revealed at Sony's press conference at E3 2015. There has even been tons of rumours stating, that the game won't make its 2016 release window. Now though, it seems those rumours have been shot down.
June's Edge cover (issue 294) offers a big preview of The Last Guardian, which is based on the first 45 minutes of gameplay.
The premise of the game revolves around the young boy's relationship with Trico, a large beast that will sometimes do as told, and sometimes not. Building a stronger bond will allow for better co-operation. Also, Trico can shoot a red beam of lightning from it's tail, so there will be some combat sequences in the game.
Lastly, the studio confirmed once again, that The Last Guardian is on track for release in 2016, so we'll no doubt learn the release date at this year's E3.
