Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi perceives Gran Turismo Sport is well positioned for virtual reality. "The compatibility of GT Sport to VR is very, very good," Yamauchi said in an interview with Gamereactor and selected journalists during an event at the Nürburgring. Yamauchi thinks VR headsets are generally a suitable product for racing games, because "you're playing in a seated position" and the player also virtually wears a helmet which is consistent with wearing a VR headset.

Personally Yamauchi does not get sick playing racing games with VR, even if he knows the phenomenon is an issue for other players. GT Sport is designed to support Sony's own PlayStation VR headset at launch, something that was revealed at the London event the other week.
