The person who is commonly regarded as the best Halo player in the world, Ogre 2, has officially retired from the Halo pro scene and is looking for new games to play. This was announced on Twitter where he writes: "For many reasons, I've decided it's time to stop competing and I'm currently looking for what is next in the eSports world for me."

Ogre 2 (his twin brother is Ogre 1, but left the esports scene earlier) led his team Final Boss to one of the most amazing successes in esports history. Final Boss managed to reach the final in 38 Major League Gaming tournaments in a row, and they won 30 of them.

They dominated the Halo scene during the Halo 2 era, but were also a major player in Halo 3, Halo 4 and Halo: Reach with many big wins. Ogre 2 later left his team behind and became the first player to win a National Championship in all four Halo games released at the time.

Ogre 2 went on to found a new team called Counter Logic Gaming who had considerable success in Halo 2: Anniversary and Halo 5: Guardians, but after such a long time playing Halo competitively, Ogre 2 obviously feels like it is time to find something else to excel in.

We wish him good luck, and wonder where we'll see him next and what sort of success he can achieve.

Thanks, Kotaku.
