The developers of the popular free-to-play vehicular combat MMO, War Thunder, have today announced that the game will be getting a major update very soon, featuring guided missiles.
The update will bring in a slew of new tanks armed with guided missiles, allowing you to get the tactical advantage over enemy tanks or planes. Players will be able to control missiles after firing, guiding them all the way to their target.
One of the new tanks featured in the update is the Soviet IT-1. It's based on the hull of the T-62, and was historically the only tank to never have any guns - having only 15 guided missiles ready to take down the enemy, around corners and over hills. Other in-game nations will also be getting their own new guided missile tanks in the update.
In other news, War Thunder now has support for the Oculus Rift consumer edition, meaning players will be able to immerse themselves in the game better than ever before - plus, VR works in both ground and air battles (let's hope the airplanes come with sickbags as standard).
Players can try out VR mode in War Thunder by enabling it through the launcher. If you want the most immersive experience possible, you can also play the game with a flight stick and throttle at the same time as using the headset.
