Sony's press conference has just finished, and the platform holder has made some major announcements. We'll be covering them much more closely on the site in the coming days, but here's a quick summary for you.
The PS Vita got a long overdue shot in the arm, with Sony announcing new games and new features. Killzone Mercenary, by Guerilla Games, was announced for the handheld, and it will be followed by a whole selection of PSone games that will also make the jump across. We also got to see more of the Vita exclusive Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified.
Little Big Planet devs MediaMolecule are also working on a PS Vita title called Tearaway, which looks promising. Sony Japan Studio are working on two titles, Rain and Puppeteer, both PSN exclusives.
Sony also talked about porting the Playstation Plus service over to the handheld, and their Cross Buy scheme got more support (buy PS3 versions of Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault and you'll also get them on PS Vita).
The big hitters all made an appearance, with footage shown from The Last of Us, Final Fantasy XIV, Dust 514 and more, but the star of the show was undoubtedly the PS Vita. All told, a good day for owners of the handheld.
